2020 has been full of ups and downs but what should stay consistent are our fitness goals. Staying healthy, especially during quarantine is important for overall health. Virtual Run allows the flexibility of creating a goal and scheduling it around your schedule. Short on time? Run a quick jog around the block. Raining outside? Run in place or treadmill. Having control over your running goals allows you to fully implement it to see the results.
Whether you run a 5K, 10K, or in the marathon space, community plays a huge role in staying motivated. Virtual Runs allows you to run towards a common goal while running solo. Personally, I miss the adrenaline and excitement of running together, but I found that being engaged in an online community helps motivate me to push further. In Virtual Run’s Facebook group, there are so many exciting and inspirational stories of people overcoming obstacles . Having virtual run events, where we can run virtually together, creates a certain camaraderie. Getting the medal helps us to regain that feeling of accomplishment.
